Ah... the ruts we find ourselves in. Here we are walking around with ashes on our foreheads and assuming others know why.... and then there are those that have no clue why there are dirty foreheads. Here's a thread on Reddit that discusses it. Unfortunately, many of those who comment seem to stereotype Christians -- assuming we are all narrow-minded, intolerant, anti-intellectual folk. Of course, not all geeks are athiests, and not all Christians are fundamentalists. We probably all could take a few steps back from our assumptions and be better off for it.
